Chrissy Teigen and John Legend present their third daughter after

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend welcomed their third child last week. It was the singer who announced the news at a private concert on January 13, the same day the little girl was born. Seven days after this moment, the model publicly introduced her daughter, whose name is Esti Maxine Stephens, on her Instagram account, where she has more than 40 million followers. In August, Teigen announced she is pregnant for the fourth time after suffering a miscarriage in October 2020.

The loss of their third child in the fifth month of pregnancy was one of the hardest moments of the marriage, which did not hesitate to make what happened public. The model had to be hospitalized due to excessive bleeding from the placenta and eventually they lost their unborn child, who they planned to name Jack. The couple shared some very tough images of the moment on their Instagram account, in which they can be seen hugging the recently deceased in hospital: “We are in shock and in deep pain that we have only heard of, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were unable to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bagless blood transfusions. It wasn’t enough,” they shared after the event.

Just as they announced the loss of Jack, they have now welcomed little Esti and presented to all their followers: “The family couldn’t be happier,” the presenter wrote on her profile, along with a photo of her two older children, holding the baby. “Daddy sheds tears of joy every night when he sees Luna and Miles so lovingly and I’m learning that I still need diapers if I’m going to have a cesarean. We are full of happiness. Thanks for all the love and good wishes, we’re all sorry!

Teigen and Legend have two other children: Luna Simone, six, and Miles Theodore, four, but they’ve always had in mind expanding the family despite the difficulties they’ve encountered in the process. Since losing Jack, the model has shared her grief in numerous interviews and used her social media to justify the importance of mental health, especially after such a difficult moment as losing a child. In October 2021, Teigen revealed the little boy’s ashes joined her like another on her family outings: “Whether it’s because we’re going on vacation or something, they always say [por sus hijos]: ‘Don’t forget Baby Jack.’

At the beginning of 2022, the model and presenter announced that they were undergoing fertility treatment for which they did not have a deposit. But as she and the singer announced months later, it all worked out in the end and they were able to announce the pregnancy, always looking back on what happened two years earlier: “There are so many ways to conceive a baby today… either through Surrogacy or adoption,” the model explains to People magazine about her desire to continue expanding her family.

The three children they had during their 10-year marriage are thanks to in vitro fertilization due to their fertility issues. Teigen and Legend met on the set of Stereo in 2006. Such was the bond that formed between them that after 14 hours of filming they ended the day with hamburgers in their hotel room. Seven years later, the couple said yes on Lake Como (Italy) and became one of the most popular couples in show business.
