Chinese Zodiac Wealth Predictions for 2023

(CNN) — Say goodbye to the tiger; It’s time to dive into the Year of the Rabbit.

For many people, the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 22 this year, is a time to consult the stars to find out what lies ahead in the coming months.

Most people know the basics: The 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac calendar is represented by 12 different animals – the Chinese zodiac signs. Your zodiac sign is determined by your birth year.

But that’s just the beginning. For loyal followers of the system, a year is not only categorized by its tier. There is also a complex sexagenary cycle consisting of 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches.

Heavenly stalks and earthly branches

Each year, a heavenly stem (one of five elements that fall into the yin or yang category) is paired with an earthly branch (one of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs).

Gui Mao is the 40th element of the Chinese sexagenarian cycle – the celestial stem “Gui” represents water, while the earthly branch “Mao” represents rabbit. That makes 2023 the year of the water bunny.

“It’s also unusual to have the combination of water and rabbit. The rabbit stands for wood. Water nourishes wood (according to Chinese geomancy).”

She says industries with wood as a key element – like culture, publishing, agriculture and furniture – would benefit. On the other hand, fire industries including digital and tech companies could suffer as fire is afraid of water.

“The Year of the Water Rabbit will be a gentler year. We will have time to take a breather. We’ve been in the tunnel for the last few years and the light is getting bigger now,” says Chow.

How the “Grand Duke of Jupiter” reigns over your happiness

Adherents believe that the luck for each Chinese zodiac sign depends largely on the positions of the Tai Sui – the star deities believed to rotate parallel to and in the opposite direction of Jupiter.

To calculate how each person will be affected in a given year, a Chinese geomancy consultant looks at the natal chart, which is made up of a variety of elements – such as the day and time of their birth – to see how they are doing it do can interact with the year elements.

These combinations play an important role for those who follow them, helping them to make big life decisions for the year ahead, such as getting married. B. whether to get married or start a business.

Different geomancy masters may interpret the data differently. Still, there is a general consensus as to what the year means for each zodiac sign based on the positions of the stars, especially Tai Sui.

A popular dish in China, longevity noodles can be thick, thin, flat, or crunchy — but they’re always long. In Hong Kong, where E-Fu fried noodles lead, a factory has ramped up production by 30% to meet Lunar New Year demand.

If your zodiac sign collides with Tai Sui — also known as the Grand Duke of Jupiter — in a given year, experts say you could be dealing with disruptions.

For those who may have trouble with Tai Sui this year, Chow says to remember that the calendar is a rotating cycle.

“It’s like playing on musical chairs – if you sit in place, you get Tai Sui. You’ll change your position next round,” says Chow, whose zodiac sign will also be in an unfavorable position in Tai Sui this year.

To resolve clashes, one might go to a Chinese temple and make offerings to depictions of Tai Sui.

“Even if you don’t believe in it 100%, I feel like it gives you a nice kick-start to the new year psychologically,” says Chow. “If something happens along the way, you’ll remember you did it and it’ll give you a little cushion.”

Now it’s time to get specific.

Rabbits

People born in the year of the Rabbit will face their “Ben Ming Nian” – their own zodiac year – in 2023. Adherents believe there will be more disruption and instability in the coming year.

“People born in the year of the Rabbit face big changes in their health, career and relationships. It could be a little nerve-wracking, especially for those whose natal charts don’t favor water,” says Chow.

“But remember, it’s never all bad. It can mean an opportunity to grow.”

Rabbits should try to attract positive energy and participate in happy events whenever possible.

They should also travel to destinations in their south — whether those southern destinations are within their city or outside of their country — says Chow.

dragon

It’s going to be a pretty good year for Dragons out there. No unlucky stars affect their year.

“There are no salient concerns, except perhaps the health of those born in the summer and autumn. They could easily get stressed,” says Chow.

But the geomancy expert urges Dragons not to make hasty decisions at work.

“It doesn’t mean overthinking it. Just let things sit longer before making a decision,” says Chow.

Single dragons could meet potential romantic partners this year. Your lucky colors are metallic, like gold or silver.

As far as travel goes, you should head west for a better fate, says Chow.

Line

People born in the Snake years will rejoice in good tidings and abundance as the travel star Yi Ma Xing and lucky star Cai Xing will rule over them this year.

“Opportunities, new directions, and advancements will present themselves to you at work,” says Chow. “But Snakes need to find a balance in life and take breaks when needed.”

Romantically, snakes could find love while traveling this year. Chow advises them to wear blue or gold and travel west or north.

Horse

“This year, the peach blossom star (Taohua Xing) will shine over the horses. That’s always good news,” says Chow.

Professionally, they will find new opportunities and meet many caregivers who will help them.

You will enjoy good relationships. She says this could be the right year for those looking to get engaged or married.

But Chow issues a warning to horses: Take care of your family’s physical and mental health.

“You can wear brightly colored clothes like pink, orange and a bit of yellow. When it comes to travel, they can go south,” says Chow.

Goat

This year, goats will welcome Tai Sui.

It generally has a positive impact on their happiness, but at the same time, it can also mean that the year is going to be tough as well. Therefore, goats need to take care of themselves and rest when necessary.

“Save some time to get to know yourself better. When it comes to your career, you have to stay humble and hold back. watch more Opportunities come at the right moment,” says Chow.

On the relationship front, people born in Goat years will enjoy a smooth year.

“They’re more likely to meet new people, new friends, and even new loves this year,” Chow says, adding that a little gold and a trip out west could add to their happiness.

Ape

Good news for Monkeys: They will be in harmonious association with Tai Sui this year.

Chow says they are showered with admiration from those around them at work.

But that doesn’t mean they should live recklessly. Instead, says the geomancer, “they should play it safe this year, especially those who love extreme sports.”

When it comes to relationships, they are prone to arguments and drama, which could be avoided with improved communication this year.

Yellow and beige are the color palette for Monkeys in 2023, and they may be looking west for travel inspiration, says Chow.

Faucet

Roosters need to prepare – they will clash with Tai Sui this year, which means the coming months could be unstable and bring many changes.

Advice from Chow: Embrace the chaos and travel more.

“Gather as much positive energy as you can and be more aware that you can attract conflict more easily this year,” she says. “But understand that these changes are for the better.”

To soften the blow, they might wear more yellows and browns and visit places to the west or north.

dog

Coupled with Tai Sui, people born under the sign of Dog are likely to enjoy a comfortable year with significant advances in careers and finances.

But dogs need to remember to be humble and listen to others, especially friends and people they trust, Chow says. They will tell you important things that will serve you very well this year.

“Her lucky colors are silver and blue, and her lucky spot is up north,” says Chow.

Pig

Pigs will welcome Tai Sui, meaning it should be a positive year in general.

But on the other hand, because of the extra workload, greeting Tai Sui could also affect health.

“You have to balance work and free time equally,” says Chow.

People born during the pig years can achieve professional success if they are willing to focus on teamwork.

“It’s going to be a very good year for you relationship-wise. You’re going to meet new friends and potential new love,” says Chow.

To increase happiness, pigs could wear pink and purple more often and plan a trip south, she adds.

rat

People born in the Years of the Rat will come into conflict with Tai Sui, also known as Xing (Torture) Tai Sui, in the next year.

“It means a tougher year in general,” says Chow. “But when there is yin, there is always yang. So remember, it’s never really all bad.”

Rats should be more careful about health and work. They could be prone to minor injuries and misunderstandings this year.

Chow encourages them to wear bright colors — like pink and orange — and go to warmer places.

Ox

Oxen will have an exciting year with the Traveling Star and Lucky Star shining overhead.

“They will find new opportunities and their finances will reach a new level. You will probably travel more for professional and personal reasons. But as they travel and work more, they need to be more mindful of their health,” says Chow.

Those who are single and looking for love may be lucky this year.

Meanwhile, when choosing a destination, they could head north, Chow says.

tiger

For those born in Tiger years, their Ben Ming Nian is over.

“That means no matter what tough times and instabilities they’re going through, things will get better soon,” says Chow. “But patience is key because change will not happen immediately.”

Tigers, especially those born in spring and summer, should take their time in the first half of the year to recover and only make big decisions in the second half, she says.

They should take things slow in relationships and “save time for me.”

Wearing yellow, blue and brown could cheer them up. They could also travel to their north and west, Chow concludes.
