China proposes Japan to end interference in bilateral affairs

Yang JiechiBeijing – China called on Japan to eliminate all kinds of internal and external interference in bilateral ties and work together to further strengthen their friendship, the foreign ministry said in a statement today.

According to the official statement, this approach was taken by Yang Jiechi, the Communist Party’s director of foreign affairs, during a meeting with Japan’s Ministry of National Security Secretary-General Takeo Akiba in the northern municipality of Tianjin.

The Chinese official reiterated the commitment to maintaining peaceful coexistence and friendly cooperation between Beijing and Tokyo after urging the neighboring country to develop positive, pragmatic and rational policies towards the Asian giant.

Stressing the position in the case of Taiwan, Yang reiterated that it is an inalienable part of China and the issue is one of the political bases in relations with Japan.

The parties also addressed international and regional issues of common interest and decided to maintain dialogue and communication, the State Department text added.
