Cheryl 39 admits shes being considered for adoption and raves

Cheryl, 39, admits she’s being considered for adoption and raves about her “wayward” son Bear, 5

Cheryl has revealed that she is no longer keen on having a second child due to the state of the world.

The 39-year-old singer shares five-year-old son Bear with ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, 29, and announced in 2020 that she would be using a sperm donor to have a second child.

Speaking exclusively to Web, however, the new star of West End show 2:22 A Ghost Story said her attitude had changed in the wake of the pandemic and there would now be a bigger age gap between their children.

Cheryl 39 admits shes being considered for adoption and raves

‘Is it sensible to bring another baby into this crazy world?’: Cheryl, 39, has admitted she is considering adoption but is no longer determined to have a second child

Cheryl explained, “I was dying to have another one because Bear was at this perfect age. I think when you have that two year age difference you can still do things with them together where they are both engaged and both are interested.

“Now that the pandemic has happened in the meantime and there’s such an age difference and I’m a little bit older. To be honest, I’m not so sure.’

However, she didn’t rule out other methods of childcare, noting, “Maybe adoption. I love babies and children and would do anything to help or have another one around, but it’s not that common anymore.

“Even as the pandemic progressed, I looked around the world and thought, this world is a little bit crazy. Is it a sensible idea to put a soul into this madness?’

At the moment, Cheryl is solely focused on Bear, who will celebrate his sixth birthday in March.

Discussing her plans for the day, she revealed: “I’m going to spend it with him and he’s very opinionated so he’ll let me know what we’re going to do!

“So we’ll have to see what he has in hand for that. I’m sure it’s going to cost me a lot of money, whatever it is!’

While still young, Cheryl has made sure her son’s privacy is respected and has chosen not to show his face on social media.

The ‘Fight For This Love’ hitmaker revealed that she’s trying to keep Bear off the internet but confessed her little one loves going on YouTube and from Wednesday’s viral dance craze, which was started by the Netflix series, is “possessed”.

While Cheryl hits the stage in her new role in 2:22 A Ghost Story, she won’t be there at night for Bear’s bedtime routine.

“It’s bizarre,” she admitted. “I’ve been doing this for almost six years. So that’s a bit strange.’

However, she admitted she had been “blessed” by the times of the Covid lockdowns in 2020, which had allowed her to spend more time with her son.

She confessed: “I think I’ve been enjoying lockdown a little too much. Bear just turned three and was at the perfect stage of knowing how to disagree. It was a truly precious age for him.

“I’m truly blessed to be able to have this time just for me and him. So I think I just enjoyed those few years a little too much.

Cheryl’s next step is her West End debut, having replaced Laura Whitmore in the role of Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The singer previously played herself in the Hollywood film What To Expect When You’re Expecting and had a small role as a cutthroat music agent in the 2020 film Four Kids And It.

“A couple of people have said they wouldn’t expect that from me,” she revealed. “But it doesn’t feel that far away to me.

“I think we like it when people are in their little box where we know where to find them and we know what to expect. And when someone does something else, you say, “Oh.”

“But to me it feels like a natural progression, the next step if you will.”

The play follows Jenny who believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam remains skeptical.

They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben, and decide to stay up until 2:22 to find out the truth.

Lily Allen was the first to take on the role of Jenny when the West End play opened in summer 2021. The singer received rave reviews and a Best Actress nomination at the Olivier Awards.

Giovanna Fletcher, Mandip Gill and Laura Whitmore have since taken on the role.

Cheryl revealed her offer was unexpected when asked about the role after meeting playwright Danny Robins for a separate issue.

However, she felt no pressure to appear as the show’s fifth star, explaining that the director encouraged her to interpret the character in her own way.

She admitted she could be taking on more acting roles soon, adding, “I really enjoyed it.

“I think going forward it would have to feel like that just felt right. It felt like something I could do and look forward to.

Though unexpected by some, Cheryl proved all the naysayers wrong and was lauded for her “excellent” performance.
