Chelsea Handler Shares Bizarre Dating App Stories on The Drew Barrymore Show
Chelsea Handler and Drew Barrymore exchanged bizarre dating app stories on Wednesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.
The 47-year-old Handler – who has toasted everything from James Corden to Prince Harry when hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards – opened up about her dating life on the show.
Handler revealed that a man she spoke to was already married and had children, though he just wanted to be friends.

“I was talking to this guy and we texted and the third text he had was like, ‘Oh, I’m just putting the kids to bed with my wife,'” she began.
‘I read it again and thought, ‘What?’ and then I went back and he said, “Only here for friends, married with kids,” and I was like, “Who’s on a dating app to meet friends?” She added.
“Like you don’t have any friends…I said, ‘Look mate, I’m not talking to you to be friends.’ I know that was so weird to me and I’ve been searching and I think that’s a category where you can say, “I’m just here to meet people,” she said.

Barrymore said: “I see it a lot, I’m just here to make friends and I’m like, ‘Okay, we all shop here and if your cart is full, then why are you here?’
She added that a man wrote on the same app, “I grew up above a cobbler’s shop so the smell of leather is so nostalgic and every time I smell it it takes me back to my childhood.”
“And I jokingly said, ‘Well, if I smell leather today, I’ll let you know,’ but I said, ‘What an interesting story,’ and he said, ‘Oh, I made it up,’ and I did just went, “Blocking,” she added.

Handler has always been very vocal about not wanting children, adding that many women have thanked her for that stance.
“I feel like so many women have reached out to me like, ‘Thank you for saying you don’t have to be, you’re not worthy in this world to be someone’s mother and wife, you are worthy beforehand,” said Handler.
“And I understand that some people want children. go get one But for the people who don’t, we’re also doing the world a favor,” added Handler.

Handler also revealed one of her red flags for dating when the other person says they’re an entrepreneur on their dating profile.
‘Oh yeah. That’s stupid,” said Handler, adding, “It just sounds like crap, like, what are you talking about? Get specific, you know?’
Drew added it was a red flag for her, saying the moniker was “so irritatingly vague, I won’t be playing.” Just be open about who you are.
