The Canadian quarterback injured his foot while being sacked with 12 minutes remaining in the game. The Lions player was helped off the field by two of his teammates.

“We won’t know [la gravité de la blessure] before doing other tests. There are many options,” head coach Rick Campbell said after the game.

Before falling into action, Rourke had rallied 375 yards and scored two touchdowns with his arm. He also had 63 yards on carries. It was also the fourth straight game in which he gained more than 330 yards through the air and the sixth time in nine games.

Since the start of this season, the Victorian native has led the league in passing yards (3,281) and touchdowns (25).

It was Pivot Michael O’Connor who finished the game for the Lions. He is also Canadian.

The British Columbia club will return to action against the Roughriders next Friday. He will then benefit from a week’s rest before heading to Montreal for Friday 9 September against the Alouettes.
