Celine Dion in her own role in cinemas next May

After Celine Dion was played by French actress Valérie Lemercier in Aline, a French film loosely inspired by her life released in 2020, Celine Dion will appear in Love Again on May 12, where she plays herself. The Quebec diva also created several songs for the soundtrack of this romantic comedy

In Love Again, a journalist named Rob Burns is hired to write a portrait of Celine Dion. However, her work is interrupted by a series of touching text messages from Mira, a woman grieving the death of her fiancé.

The latter eventually discovers that the number she’s using was assigned to Rob’s new cell phone, which develops feelings for her. The journalist will eventually ask Celine Dion to help him to win Mira’s heart.

It’s a first major role in cinema for the famous singer, who had a brief appearance in 2014’s Operation Muppets (Muppets Most Wanted) and lent her voice to the 1998 animated feature film Quest for Camelot
