In Kherson region, where active fighting is taking place, several villages were completely destroyed. In some hromadas [amalgamated territorial communities]only 10 people left.

Quote: “There is active fighting in Kherson Oblast. The situation is critical in hundreds of villages: broken roads, destroyed houses and schools, mined fields and rivers, forest fires, civilians injured or killed.
Some villages have been without electricity and water for 5 months, and their residents have not received any pensions or social benefits since March. People have to flee to the territory controlled by Ukraine or to neighboring villages.
There are Hromadas with only 10 people left, and some villages have been completely destroyed.
Background: Most of Kherson Oblast has been occupied since the Russian invasion began in February. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities plan to lift the siege on the region; some towns have already been liberated. Residents were asked to leave the occupied Kherson region in any case.
