Forward Kirby Dach was absent as he was enjoying a day of treatment.
Goaltender Jake Allen, who is still recovering from a lower body injury, worked with coach Eric Raymond before his teammates hit the ice.
The Montreal team will resume the collar on Saturday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs are in town. This will be the third in a five-game home streak.
