The 27-year-old defender had made 24 appearances for the Habs in 2021-2022 but had yet to feel the big club’s reputation this season. In 43 games with the American League Academy, Schueneman hit the target five times and provided 13 assists for 18 points.

The CH also announced that defenseman Justin Barron was unharmed and could be available for the evening’s confrontation against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

The 21-year-old appeared to have injured himself in the game against the Carolina Hurricanes last Thursday. Barron was recalled from Rocket in late December and recorded two goals and four assists for six points in 18 games with Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.

Born in Nova Scotia, he has been a member of the Canadiens organization since March 21, 2022. He was traded who sent Artturi Lehkonen to the Colorado Avalanche.

Sainte-Flanelle has also added defender Arber Xhekaj’s name to the injured list.

“Arber will be meeting with a specialist in the next few days. An update will be made after this meeting,” the club said on its Twitter account.

The freshman defender suffered the injury in last Sunday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Xhekaj has five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 51 games so far in 2022-23.
