  • 10 objects are hidden in the picture, which have no place in the 19th century, when Victoria sat on the throne

A Victorian gentleman takes off his hat as he rides his penny-farthing through the busy streets of 19th-century London, beaming at passers-by from his lofty vantage point.

Horses pull carriages across the dusty road, their carriages navigating the crowds, pigeons and piles of road debris littering their route.

This is a colorful snapshot of life during the reign of Britain’s second longest-serving monarch, made forever popular by author Charles Dickens… but amidst the hubbub, all is not what it seems.

Hidden in the picture are 10 objects that have no rightful place – objects from the modern era that no artist of the time could incorporate.

The puzzle was developed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) to celebrate their famous BSI kite brand, which is approaching its 120th anniversary this June. The mark is used as a sign of quality and reliability

The symbol first appeared on streetcar tracks in 1903 and can be found on hundreds of different products and services, including manhole covers, security locks, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

Natasha Bambridge, BSI’s Head of UK Product Certification, says the dragon mark is a highly recognized mark of quality that consumers can trust.

She told the Independent: “Eight in ten of us recognize the importance of British standards and 59 per cent look out for the BSI kite mark as a mark of quality for products and services from sofas to customer service.”
