Camila Mendes Gets Honest About Her New Relationship!

The 28-year-old Riverdale star opened up about her love life in a new episode of the Going Mental podcast. While she didn’t name a partner, Mendes has been rumored to have been dating Rudy Mancuso for several months.

“I think I’ll keep it that way for now. I don’t know, I keep changing my perspective on it,” Mendes said when asked about their mostly private relationship. “Because the thing is, when I love, I love so much that I always want to show off my lover … I get so mushy, bubbly from it.” [stuff].”

Mendes added that she and her unnamed partner have been together for “a few months” and that they first met in June.

“I’m still on my honeymoon [phase]but it’s one of those situations where I feel like I’m really trying to contain myself,” she said, something I’ve actually never felt before.”

Mendes and Mancuso will appear together in Música, a romantic comedy from Amazon Studios that he will direct. Mancuso is also set to compose the film’s original score and soundtrack, and he told Deadline when it was announced in April that he was excited to be collaborating with Mendes.

“I am beyond excited to have Camila, with her exceedingly gifted mind, participate in this special Música journey,” he remarked, “where we tell an authentic Brazilian-American story through the eyes of a synesthete.”

Mancuso, who started out with Vine in early 2013, is portrayed in the film as “a young man, plagued by the music in his head, who must come to terms with an uncertain future while balancing love, family and Brazilian culture , starring Newark, NJ,” read one description.

As previously reported, Mendes uploaded a carousel of images to her Instagram in November, including a picture in which she appears to be hugging Mancuso while he appears to be kissing her on the head. “Life update,” Mendes captioned the post.

Elsewhere in the Going Mental interview, Mendes spoke about coping with an eating disorder, and openly told host Eileen Kelly that she’s struggled with body image issues since childhood.

“I would look at every episode and be like, ‘Oh my god, my belly there…'” she said. “I was so insecure and that really fueled my eating disorder.”

“When you’re in your early 20s, your body shakes…my body hadn’t settled yet,” she added. “I looked at myself and took myself apart. My stomach, you know, my arms, my chin, everything – I would be obsessed with it.”

As she explained, a nutritionist helped her overcome her fears about certain foods, like bread, by “putting bread back into my life to say, ‘See, it’s not going to kill you.'”
