Businessman Collier Gwin, 71, was arrested last Wednesday (January 18) after he intentionally splashed water on a street woman in the city of San Francisco, United States. The city’s prosecutor’s office has issued an arrest warrant for assault against an art gallery owner.

The video, which captures the moment Gwin wets the woman with a jet of water from a hose, caused outrage. He even apologized, saying he felt “terrible” and that he “did everything I could to help the woman.”

According to CBS News, Gwin said the homeless woman made a mess of the area in front of the art gallery and knocked over trash cans on the premises. “I’ve been here for 40 years. I saw a lot of homeless people, we helped where we could and I had no problems with people. But in this case I was very upset because the city couldn’t do it. cannot help and their hands are also tied,” the businessman claimed.

Collier Gwin posted $2,500 bail and was released the same day he was arrested. However, he still faces trial in February and if convicted, could face up to six months in prison and a $2,000 fine.

San Francisco prosecutors said the businessman’s stance was unacceptable. “The alleged assault by a homeless member of our community is totally unacceptable. Mr Gwin will face appropriate consequences for his actions,” the agency said.
