Bruce Cassidy gets his revenge

Never underestimate your former employees’ vindictiveness when you fire them. Speak to the Boston Bruins, who lost their first home game of the season on Monday when former head coach Bruce Cassidy returned.

The Bruins had won their first 14 games this season at TD Garden, which is a trademark of the National Hockey League (NHL). The last time they suffered a loss in front of their fans was on April 16, season and playoffs together.

But when the Vegas Golden Knights showed up in Boston, led by Cassidy, who faced his former team for the first time since being fired last June, the streak ended. The Nevada club won 4-3 in a shootout.

Cassidy, who went 245-108-46 with the Bruins, didn’t seem too touched by the win, although he admitted putting a few bucks on the board.

“Look, I thought about it for probably three seconds,” he said, according to the NHL’s official website. [Briser] this strip means nothing to me.”

“Like I said, I appreciate it [la victoire], I did what I could to help the team win. I’m in Vegas now doing what I can there,” added the pilot, who didn’t pout his joy with a day off in Boston while strolling around his old adopted home.

For the coach

Several players had indicated that they would do whatever it takes to give their coach a win with the Knights. Such is the case of Chandler Stephenson, who put the tape aside when asked about it.

“I would say yes,” he said with a smile before the game. I’m sure all the guys on this team want to win for him and help him in that way. So I’m pretty confident that the guys will have that idea in their heads and it will be the same for him.

The least we can say is that the players reacted on the ice. And despite a video to thank Cassidy for his career in Boston, no one was touched.

“I didn’t know what the reaction would be,” Cassidy said. It was a very kind gesture from the Bruins organization. I appreciate it. From the beginning I have [eu] great respect for them.”

“Now I would like to come back here in the spring.”
