Britney Spears Fans will have to hold out much longer to read her very first memoir. The 40-year-old singer has reportedly finished writing her omnibus book, which will reportedly feature stories about her childhood, her successful music career and her 13-year conservatorship, but due to paper shortages her publisher, Simon & Schuster, is struggling to get a permanent one finding the release date, TMZ reported. Sources told the outlet that the original release date was planned for January 2023, but it looks like that won’t happen due to the paper shortage.
More about Britney Spears
The shortage reportedly came after more books were ordered during the COVID-19 quarantine period in recent years, resulting in a reduced paper supply. The lack of availability of paper was apparently also caused by people quitting their production jobs in paper mills, leading to a persistent labor shortage. It is also not yet known when the paper shortage will be resolved, TMZ reported further.

Britney’s contract for her book was signed in February 2022 and reportedly included a $15 million advance. It was one of the largest memoir bookstores in history to lag behind Barak and MichelleObama‘s deals with Penguin Random House for over $60 million. The in-depth personal look at her life is definitely something fans have been looking forward to, and Britney herself has previously stated that she wants to tell her story from her perspective.
Before news of the shortage hit the headlines, Britney garnered attention by going to a bar for the first time in 13 years. She took to her Instagram story to share a video of herself having fun with a friend at a busy bar. “This is my first time in a bar, first time,” she captioned the story. “I feel so chic and I feel so sophisticated.”

“So glad they took me my way for a cocktail for 13 years,” she also typed in pink letters in a message. “I’m so grateful to you all!!!” Britney was released from her 13-year conservatory in November 2021. She has since married and regularly posted on social media about her thoughts, including her frustrations with certain friends and family members.
