Brexit affects UK job market

The exit from the European Union (Brexit) caused this problem, converted to one percent of the working population (after the end of the free movement of people as a result of the measure).

The report adds that by June 2022 they recorded a significant deficit of around 460,000 workers from the community, partly but not fully offset by an increase of around 130,000 workers from outside the European Union (EU).

Estimates point to a shortage of 128,000 Community workers in the transport and warehousing sector, eight percent of total employment in this sector, as well as a deficit of 103,000 in wholesale and retail trade and about 67,000 in board and lodging.

They explained that there are 47,000 workers in production, 46,000 in construction and 32,000 in administration, among others.
