BREAKING: Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion Jay Briscoe Dies at 38 Zona Wrestling

Terrible news rocks the wrestling world. According to multiple sources, Jay Briscoe, a famous independent wrestler who is part of the Briscoe Brothers tag team, would have died. Jay was 38 years old. Briscoe was currently a member of the Ring of Honor (ROH) where he was a ROH World Champion and a multiple Time Team Champion. He was the current tag team champion of Tony Khan’s company along with his brother Mark, with whom he formed one of the most successful tag teams in ROH history. He also competed in other promotions such as Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).

AEW’s Tony Khan was the first to break the news on social media. In a tweet, he wrote: “Sadly Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he has been a star of ROH for over 20 years, from the very first show to today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH and reigned as champions to this day. We will do everything to support his family. Rest in peace Jamin”. The wrestling world heard the news and began expressing their thoughts and condolences. Many were shocked to hear that he died in a car accident. Dave Meltzer reports, “Two people in the car died in an accident at 5:30 p.m. in Laurel, Maryland. Terribly tragic news.”

WWE star Sami Zayn also commented on the incident, saying: “At the moment I do not have the words to adequately express my pain. I love Jay and Mark Briscoe. Forever. I wouldn’t be here without her. I’m very happy to have shared the ring and lots of laughs with Jay Briscoe and I’m so sad to know that none of us will repeat ourselves. RIP my friend”.
