Boy playing hide and seek found in another country six days later

A 15-year-old boy accidentally locked himself in a shipping container while playing hide-and-seek – and was discovered a week later in another country.

The Bangladeshi teenager – identified only by his first name Fahim – was playing with friends in the port city of Chittagong on January 11 when he hid in the shipping container and fell asleep, according to India Times.

The container was then loaded onto a merchant ship bound for Malaysia, where the boy was spotted in the West Harbor six days later on January 17.

“It was just assumed that the boy entered the container, fell asleep and found himself here,” Malaysian Interior Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said, according to Bernama, a Malaysian news agency.

A starved and dehydrated Fahim was seen in a Reddit video emerging weakly from the shipping container after it landed in country — some 2,300 miles away.

Officials said he had a fever and was taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up.

After an investigation, officials said the teenager wandered into the container during a game of hide-and-seek.

Police initially suspected the boy was involved in a human trafficking scheme.

According to India Times, in October police recovered the decomposing body of a 15-year-old boy who had been trapped in a shipping container that had made a similar journey from Chittagong to the Malaysian port of Penang.
