FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – Another setback in the introduction of electronic prescriptions in Germany weighed heavily on the pharmacy course on Thursday. With a loss of more than 13 percent to 38.28 euros, the share was not far from a low point since March 2020. On the Zurich stock exchange, shares of counterpart Zur Rose have dropped by a good 15%.
The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Westphalia-Lippe is suspending the introduction of electronic prescriptions. The person is forced to do so because of the attitude of the Federal Data Protection Commissioner, he said. Data protection officer Ulrich Kelber (SPD) had vetoed the plan to use insurance cards in September. Westfalen-Lippe is the only pilot region in Germany where electronic prescribing is to be introduced on a large scale./bek/jha/
