Body in a green bin: the police search the victim’s apartment

The day after the macabre discovery of a man’s body in a garbage can in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood of Montreal, police searched the victim’s home for evidence.

According to our information, the victim of this heinous murder is Richard Lizotte, 58 years old.

The victim lived in the basement of an apartment building on Morgan Avenue.

His body was discovered by a garbage man at the recycling collection site on Monday morning.

The body had been placed in a green recycling bin and left on the curb near the intersection of Avenue Létourneux and Rue Adam.

At the end of the day, officers from the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) confirmed that the man had indeed been the victim of a murder and the investigation was referred to the Serious Crimes Unit.

Twenty-four hours after the discovery of Richard Lizotte’s body, investigators and forensic identification technicians searched his home for evidence.

Richard Lizotte may have been murdered in his quarters before his body was placed in a green bin and then transported on foot to where it was found. Only 1.4 kilometers separate the two places.

No arrests have been made in this case and police are still trying to determine the motive for this murder, which has been committed in Montreal since the beginning of the 18th.
