Bob Odenkirk on why he was “lucky” to have a heart attack when he got one

On The daily show with Trevor Noah Tuesday night You better call Sol Star Bob Odenkirk discussed his heart attack last July and why he was glad it happened when it happened.

“I had a heart attack,” Odenkirk explained. “I was very lucky to have it on set. There were some professionals around who immediately gave me CPR. Everyone listen, take a CPR course. Clean it up. They saved my life.” Odenkirk suffered a heart attack on set You better call Sol on July 25. According to the actor, however, his brain does not remember this.

Odenkirk admitted: “I don’t remember any of that. The next day, after the operation, I woke up, my family was there. I said to myself, “Hey!” I was like, “I have to go back to work.” I’m in a hospital gown. They say, “No, no. You had a heart attack.” I say to myself, “No, no, what? No. I was at work.” They say, “How did you get here?” And I go, my brain does it myself: “I drove here and parked on the second level, because I knew you were here, and then I came in here,” and my wife says, “So you did you come in here, go to bed and put on your dress? And I looked down and I was, like, yeah. “

“My brain made up a little story about how I got there. Quite strange,” added Odenkirk, who also said he was doing great after the accident. And that’s a good thing – as fans celebrate the sixth and final season of You better call Sol, whose premiere is on April 18.

The daily show with Trevor Noah airs during the week from 23 hours Comedy Central.
