During the episode, the 59-year-old presenter was pulled aside by two executive producers, who revealed the glamorous influencers decided to leave after just 48 hours on set.

“Last night I gave you all an opportunity – an off – if you thought you couldn’t make it on the show, that you could leave if you wanted to,” the irate host began.

“I didn’t think anyone would pass up an opportunity like this, but I just found out that Joel and Elle are on their way to the airport.”

He added: “They left their show. They didn’t say goodbye, they didn’t say thank you for having us. They just left.’

Scott previously said at the Logie Awards that entering the competition so early on made Elle and Joel “un-Australian” and “p**s poor”.

The couple reportedly left after Joel’s mother broke her tailbone and fractured her wrist in a fall at her home in Adelaide.

Following their exit, Elle, 36, shared a photo of the couple’s suitcases at Melbourne Airport on Instagram.

“Wherever you are in the world, whatever you do, family always comes first,” she captioned the picture.
