Blinken travels to the G7 meeting in Germany

WASHINGTON, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) The head of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken, will travel to Munster, Germany on Nov. 3-4 for the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting, the State Department said today.

A statement attributed to spokesman Ned Price says Blinken will also attend the US-German Future Forum, which he will co-chair with German Secretary of State Annalena Baerbock.

Foreign ministers from the group of the world’s seven most industrialized economies will discuss what they see as “a number of pressing challenges” at the global level, including support for Ukraine from all allies.

Also on the agenda, according to the official, are issues related to Africa and the Indo-Pacific region, as well as the fight against the climate crisis and health security at the global level.

Price also mentioned the food and energy crises resulting from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the outcome of which, according to repeated complaints from Moscow, was helped by the United States.

According to another press release, Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried traveled to Kyiv, where she will remain until tomorrow.

The purpose of his visit “is to underscore the United States’ unwavering and enduring support for Ukraine” against Russia.

Donfried will meet with authorities from the Eastern European nation to ratify White House military aid.

Last September, the head of Russia’s foreign intelligence service, Sergey Naryshkin, warned that Washington was trying by all means to maintain the confrontation in Ukraine.

He said that despite the high number of casualties among the Ukrainian troops and the impoverishment of the economy of their “satellites”, such a strategy is being applied, clearly referring to the European states affected by the current energy shortages.
