Biden has no regrets about dealing with classified documents

US President Joe Biden has no regrets about his handling of classified documents found in his home and former office. “I’m not sorry. We are cooperating fully and hope to clear things up quickly,” he told reporters in California yesterday (local time).

He followed his lawyers’ instructions after “a handful of documents” were filed in the wrong place. According to Biden, the documents were immediately transferred to the National Archives. The White House has been largely on the defensive since the secret files were discovered on Jan. 9.

Shortly after the discovery, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed former US Attorney Robert Hur as special counsel. Biden and his lawyers acknowledged the files they found. These are documents from his tenure as vice president during the presidency of Barack Obama.
