The President gave the interview in anticipation of next week’s midterm elections, in which many Democrats fear electoral losses. Election forecasters believe Republicans will gain control of the House of Representatives, which will affect the GOP’s legislative agenda for the next four years.

With six days to go, polls show enthusiasm among Republican voters is running high. The polls also show Biden’s low approval ratings, as many Americans are unhappy with high inflation driving up the cost of living.

Crime is listed as another top issue, and Republicans have hammered Democrats as soft.

Polls have projected dissatisfaction among Americans with how Democrats have handled both issues.

Though neither party has won a decisive majority for public confidence to halt rising crime and fix the economy, the vast majority of polls show voters prefer the GOP to oversee them.

In the nearly hour-long podcast interview, Biden spent much of it talking about his life in the White House.

He said he trains for 45 minutes every morning with a trainer who comes to work with him.

‘I feel good. I feel good. The thing I feel about the age difference is if I let it go for a week, I feel it,” Biden said.

He said that he and Jill have trouble finding time together given his job as president and that she teaches full-time at a community college in Northern Virginia.

“Typically we’ve tried going to Camp David or going back to our home in Delaware that’s secluded enough from the road,” he said.

“The good news is that a plane never leaves until I get there,” he said.
