From his unlocked phone, Thomas receives posthumous messages from Vinny, including a video filmed by his friend the night he died: Vinny actually committed suicide by throwing himself in front of Bill Spencer’s car with the intention of killing Liam frame and pave the way for Thomas with Hope. The designer forgives his twisted nature.
After a moment’s hesitation, Thomas decides to take the evidence to the police in hopes of clearing Liam of the allegations. However, he first encounters Justin, who wants him to testify for Liam and paint a not-very-honorable picture of Vinny. Thomas informs him of the evidence in his possession and Justin inexplicably punches him so hard he passes out.

Meanwhile, Steffy offers his help and support to Hope, demoralized by the hard line the prosecutor is taking against Liam and Bill: they were denied bail because their economic availability meant they were seen as subjects with escape opportunities.
During her prison visit with Bill, Katie expresses her disappointment with her ex-husband’s decisions. He also tells him that Will knows everything: Since the matter is all over the media, he had to tell him about his father and brother’s arrest. Bill justifies himself: He would do anything to protect his family. The publisher promises to settle the matter.
