Avatar 2 became the third highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing Titanic and falling behind 2009’s original Avatar and Avengers: Endgame, The Way of Water Premieres exclusively online on Disney Plus.
James Cameron’s production makes the director one of the most successful of all time, with three of the top five films: Avatar, Avatar 2 and Titanic.

And Avatar had $890 million in revenue (adjusted for inflation) and 97 million ticket sales in the United States.

Returning to Avatar 2, The Way of Water will premiere online on Disney Plus, although we’ll have to wait a little longer than the streaming platform is used to, a trend that all services are following.
Although it was common until 2021/2022 to receive titles within 45 days of their passage through cinemas, these time windows have been lengthening. It happened with Spider-Man 3: No Way Home, which took seven months to get from theaters to streaming, and the same with Top Gun 2: Maverick.
