Dardy Lavaud and Robby Valère were arrested on August 12 following another episode of violence in east Montreal. Dozens of bullets had been fired that night. They were previously charged with firearms.

However, new charges were brought against the two men on Thursday, not least including three counts of attempted murder with a firearm and three counts of firing a firearm at the victims. A total of 11 charges now hang over the two men.

Dardy Lavaud, 18, is a member of a clique linked to Zone 43, a street gang in northeast Montreal, according to our sources. The affiliation of Robby Valère, 23, is not known. The latter was subject to a gun ownership ban.

Your first murder attempt could be the wrong person. A 20-year-old woman who had just parked near Rue Pierre-Bonne was actually riddled with bullets but miraculously survived. This event went under the media radar on August 10 because it occurred on the same evening as the murder of Jayson Colin, who was shot in the courtyard of a Montreal North high school.

Then the next day, August 11, a 25-year-old woman was shot dead in her vehicle on Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis in Rivière-des-Prairies. His brother, who was on board, was not injured. According to our information, more than thirty cases were found at the crime scene.

Robby Valère and Dardy Lavaud are also charged with another attempted murder of a man. A process that was not mediated by the police.
