Newlywed Ash Barty appeared to be in good spirits on Friday as she headed out to dinner with a friend in Sydney’s CBD.

The three-time Grand Slam champion, 26, comfortably wore a plain black top, trousers and white sneakers.

Her natural beauty shone as she strolled through Sydney’s hotspots in search of the perfect restaurant for a meal.

The brunette appeared to be deep in conversation with her blonde pal and had a focused look on her face as they strolled through the CBD together.

Sports fans will be happy to see that the world’s top tennis player is finding time to unwind after retiring from the sport in March.

After her departure, she focused on her private life and last month married Australian professional golfer Garry Kissick after a five-year relationship.

Her evening comes just months after she shocked the sporting world by announcing her retirement in an emotional video in which she revealed she was “exhausted” physically and emotionally.

She announced via a video posted to her Instagram account in March that she was retiring from the sport after spending nearly three years as the world’s top player.

“It’s the first time I’ve said it out loud so it’s hard to say but I’m so happy and so ready,” she explained in the video, which she was joined by former doubles partner and good friend Casey Dellacqua .

Barty snagged world number one on June 24, 2019 and never relinquished it for the next two and a half years with high placings at Grand Slams.

She said in her retirement video that she’s excited “for my next chapter as Ash Barty, the person and not the athlete.”

Barty recently announced that she is writing a memoir entitled My Dream Time, to be published later this year.
