We see them on our TV screens or hear them on the radio regularly – but some of Britain’s famous names have also appeared as black light cartoon characters.

A well-known former BBC media editor recently revealed that he starred as an “inadequate man” in a 2018 Channel 5 comic strip, The Wright Stuff.

Now a radio presenter, he told the BBC’s ‘Would I Lie To You?’ show: ‘It was really about bringing scenarios to life that people could relate to. I would be pictured, often with someone who was out of my league, then there would be a little thought bubble saying, “I just can’t do it.”

And many other celebrities have also graced the pages of the nation’s photo comic strips in their day.
