Arturo Valls presents That’s My Jam España, an adaptation of Jimmy Fallon’s celebrity musical show

Movistar Plus+ relies on the Spanish version of That’s My Jam, the NBC program presented by Jimmy Fallon. The adaptation of this format will have Arturo Valls as presenter and will premiere on the platform in 2023. That’s My Jam Spain is a Movistar Plus+ production in collaboration with LaCoproductora (of Grupo PRISA, publisher of EL PAÍS), production company Pólvora Films and Universal Television Alternative Studios (UTAS), a division of Universal Studio Group.

The American format presents a great show where two teams of famous guests compete in exciting challenges to prove their musical skills. The program’s first season has garnered more than 250 million views across its linear and digital platforms in the United States, and will premiere a second season on March 7 on NBC.

Arturo Valls himself announced the premiere of the show on his social networks on Tuesday morning. “To present and co-produce a format that I like as a viewer fills me with great enthusiasm and great responsibility. I’m looking forward to a great time with all the friends who will come to play on the show and a live band that is to die for. I hope good vibes come across the screen,” he explained.

That’s My Jam Spain is the sixth international version of this project, which has also been or will be adapted by NBCUniversal Formats in countries such as the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Mongolia. With the version directed by Valls, Movistar Plus+ reaffirms its commitment to talent, humor and quality entertainment in 2023.

Fallon likes to fill his famous NBC night, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with sections of music. Many of them go viral on social networks, making the program popular around the world, even in countries where it is not broadcast. Based on these celebrity segments, he created That’s My Jam. Its pilot episode aired in November 2021, starring four hugely popular musicians in the United States: former first American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, teen pop idol Ariana Grande, R&B and soul singer John Legend, and Blake Shelton, one of the country’s kings and star judge of The American Voice.

Jorge Pezzi, general director of LaCoproductora, explains that the Spanish version of That’s My Jam “will bring together the most representative characters from all walks of life to fill the screen with music, games and lots of laughter, a format created by Fallon but with a Spanish flavor”. Ana Langenberg, NBCUniversal Formats senior vice president of format sales & production, points out that “Spanish viewers can now experience the magic of this format. It’s a perfect program to watch as a family.”

Ángel Ayllón, Movistar Plus+ Entertainment Manager, defines the space as “one of the most important entertainment formats in the world. A great show that combines music and humor and in which Arturo Valls shows his extraordinary talent to entertain us.”
