As part of his agenda as Celac’s pro tempore president, Fernández discussed confronting climate change with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, met with representatives of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, and campaigned to alleviate the external debt of Low and States with middle income.

On the other hand, he promoted dialogue between Celac and the European Union, insisted on the need to strengthen regional integration, called for the positions and demands of Latin America and the Caribbean to be heard in different fora, and called for peace and unity to be defended . achieve social justice.

Fernández called for the end of the US blockades against Cuba and Venezuela and asked for a critical look at the current situation on the world’s most unequal continent.

Argentina hosted the 39th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in October and also assumed the pro tempore presidency of that organization.

The Argentine President stressed the importance of continuing work on the Celac-China Action Plan (2022-2024), as well as designing and implementing activities of interest to all members.

Since its inception, Celac has contributed to deepening respectful dialogue and has established itself as a key tool for promoting and projecting the regional voice, with the aim of better inserting itself into the international arena, the Casa Rosada statement said.
