Apple launches new MacBook Pros with the world’s fastest laptop chip

Apple on Tuesday introduced new MacBook Pros that contain the world’s fastest chip for professional laptops, making them six times more powerful than their predecessors.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch computers will be powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, the tech giant’s in-house chips that replaced those made by Intel.

M2 Pro has almost 20 percent more transistors than M1 Pro, twice the unified memory bandwidth than M2, and is up to 20 percent faster than the 10-core CPU in M1 Pro.

While M2 Max is said to be the fastest in the world, with 10 billion transistors more than M1 Max and more than three times as many as M2.

The 14-inch MacBook starts at $1,999 and the 16-inch model starts at $2,499. Both are available today, with shipping beginning January 24th.

Tuesday’s announcement came as a surprise as Apple has four launch events in a year, with the first spring event scheduled for March when Apple launches its iMacs and accessories.

Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware technologies, said in a statement, “Only Apple builds SoCs like the M2 Pro and M2 Max. They deliver incredible professional-grade performance along with industry-leading power efficiency.

“With an even more powerful CPU and GPU, support for a larger unified storage system, and an advanced media engine, the M2 Pro and M2 Max represent amazing advances in Apple chips.”

M2 Pro consists of 40 billion transistors and features 200 GB of unified memory bandwidth and up to 32 GB of unified low-latency memory.

While M2 Max is designed with 67 billion transistors.

This powerful chip features 400GB of unified memory bandwidth, twice that of M2 Pro, four times that of M2, and M2 Max supports up to 96GB of fast unified memory.

According to Apple, a MacBook Pro with M2 Pro is 40 percent faster than a MacBook with M1 Pro and 80 percent faster than a MacBook with Intel’s older Core i9 chip.

M2 Max can compile code up to 25 percent faster than M1 Pro and up to two and a half times faster than MacBook Pro with an Intel Core i9 processor.

The M2 Max-powered Pro offers 30 percent better graphics performance than an M1 Max-equipped MacBook Pro, while CPU performance is up to 20 percent better.

According to Apple, this chip is “the most powerful and efficient chip in the world for a professional laptop”.

The technology now features Thunderbolt ports on models configured with the high-end “M2” Pro processor.

Apple said the new chips will allow users to do things on the Mac mini that were never possible.

Both chips contain Apple’s next-generation, 16-core Neural Engine capable of 15.8 trillion operations per second, up to 40 percent faster than the previous generation.

In addition to the new MacBooks, Apple also introduced a new Mac mini with the M2 and M2 Pro chips for the first time.

The new Mac mini retains the original design but functions similarly to the new MacBook Pros.

This includes producing music, photographers can adjust huge megapixels in minutes and developers can work seamlessly with a multi-camera.

And Mac mini is now made for gamers.

The new “Mac mini” starts at a lower price of $599 and can be configured with either “M2” or “M2” Pro and up to 32GB of memory.
