Winchester Cathedral will serve as a replacement for Westminster Abbey, where the late Princess’ funeral took place on September 6, 1997.
It will be closed to visitors later this month, on January 24 and 25, when filming is believed to be taking place, according to the cathedral’s website.
Cast and crew filmed the funeral procession in October, the royal standard draped over the coffin on its carriage – just like in real life – while actors in the ceremonial Welsh Guards uniform march alongside.
