Antoine Bertrand returns to Quebec cinema in this reimagining of a childhood classic, 7 Jours

Antoine Bertrand will be part of the cast of the film Miss Bootia new version of the famous fairy tale for everyone Bach and Booty to be filmed later this year.

The actor confirmed the news during an interview with the Journal on Thursday about his participation as a jury member at the Festival de l’Alpe d’Huez in France.

“I’m really excited about it as a project,” confided the actor, known for his roles in Louis Cyr and Starbuck.

“Dominic James wrote the script for this remake of Bach and Bottine and it’s really good. It tells the same story as the original film but in a slightly different way. Filming is slated to begin next August.

Filmmaker Yan Lanouette Turgeon (Roche papier scissors) was selected to direct the film. Miss Bottine will tell the story of an 11-year-old orphan who is forced to leave her farm and animals to settle in Montreal with her Uncle Philippe, an opera composer who lives as a hermit.

Released in 1986, the original Bach et Bottine film was the third in the Tales for All series, following The War of the Toques (1984) and Operation Peanut Butter (1985). The feature film, directed by André Melançon, starred Mahée Paiement and Raymond Legault.

On his return from the Alps, Antoine Bertrand will finish filming The Brother, the next feature film by director Bachir Bensaddek (Montréal la blanche). He will then travel to Thailand to star in French thriller The Green Promise alongside Alexandra Lamy.
