When the police arrived at the scene of the crime, they found a smashed shop window in the business premises and the source of the fire, which the fire brigade quickly brought under control.

An incendiary object was found at the scene, according to City of Montreal Police Department spokeswoman Caroline Chèvrefils.

No one was injured and no arrests were made, Agent Chèrevefils said, adding that the investigation was transferred to the SPVM’s Arson Division.
