Anne Heche: Accident leaves actress in “extremely critical” condition

The American actress and director Anne Heche is in critical condition in hospital after a car accident on Friday (5 August). The artist was traveling in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles when her blue Mini Cooper crashed into an apartment complex garage. Since then, the actress has been in hospital in “extremely critical” condition, according to a statement from her publicist.

During the accident, the car caught fire and the actress suffered severe lung injuries and thirddegree burns all over her body, which will require surgery.

After the crash, the local fire department came to the actress’s aid. According to American news, the Los Angeles Police Department received a search warrant to take a blood test from the actress to determine if she was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Anne was the only one who was hurt. The owner of the house destroyed in the accident receives help from neighbors to salvage her belongings. Neighborhood residents organized a “baby crowd” with the aim of raising US$100,000 (approx. R$522,000).

Heche was born on May 25, 1969 in Aurora, Ohio. His most famous works are “Six Days, Seven Nights” and “Chicago PD: District 21”. The actress is also known for her roles in shows like Men in Trees, Hung, Save Me, Aftermath and The Brave. In the cinema she appeared in feature films such as “Volcano” and “Jogando com Prazer”.
