Angolan airline resumes commercial flights to Cuba Periódico Digital Centroamericano y del Caribe

TAAG-Angola Airlines announced this Friday that it will resume commercial flights to Havana, capital of Cuba, from November, which were suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a press release published by the Angop agency, the company justified the return of the destination with a positive assessment of business on the intercontinental routes with connections to America and Europe.

According to the source, Angola and Cuba share strong historical ties and passenger exchanges, mainly due to the entry of the island’s business sector (doctors and teachers) and travel in the opposite direction for reasons of tourism, education and health.

From November 8, flights from Luanda to Havana, operated by a Boeing 777-300, will begin with fortnightly frequencies this month, weekly in December and fortnightly in February 2023, the report said.

The company also plans to increase frequencies to Madrid (Spain) with an additional flight (weekly) in response to higher demand and aircraft occupancy.

In recent days, TAAG reported that it will increase its flights to Maputo (Mozambique), Windhoek (Namibia) and Sao Paulo (Brazil) from October to offer customers more options.

The airline currently covers 14 domestic routes and 12 international destinations, including growing cargo traffic.
