Sarah Jessica Parker wore a swish hat while filming season two of And Just Like That… in NYC on Thursday – after Michael Patrick King previously refused to let her wear the hat in the season one finale.
The Carrie Bradshaw actress, 57, was seen hugging co-star Kristin Davis (Charlotte York-Goldenblatt), 57, as she filmed wearing the lace-trimmed straw hat – a year after the headgear sparked tensions between her and showrunner King, 68 , caused.
And Just Like That… The Documentary – which documented behind-the-scenes moments from season one, saw SJP target a wide-brimmed hat and branded it “weird and a wreck”.
SJP was planned to wear the hat with the season finale’s Oscar de la Renta Magnolia dress that Carrie wears to Jackie and Smoke’s wedding, as well as in a dream sequence in Paris – but King shut down the idea for use in multiple scenes.

The star wowed in a white lace Vivienne Westwood jumpsuit and platform heels as she posed for some social media snaps with the caption, “Salvation! What happened in Paris didn’t stay in Paris.’
Kristin wowed in a green and white floral dress with an A-line skirt teamed with white heels as they filmed the dog walking scenes.
The scenes come more than a year after King ended style queen SJP’s fondness for the hat.
Although the hat was groomed by SJP’s hairstylist Serge Norman, King, who was branded a “hat hater” by costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, told the actress that the hat could only be used for one scene as it covered the actress’ face shield from the camera.

King explained that he was afraid HBO executives would ask him why they couldn’t see their facial expressions in the show’s finale.
He said: “The idea of me having to take that hat off her was really uncomfortable. It was bad. It’s a bad situation,” because now Sarah Jessica loves the hat. As she should. It was a phenomenal look – for one scene, but not for many.
“So now I have to be a studio manager. I have to be the monster, the guy who slams the door on the soufflé-pff!
The scene continued without the hat, causing visible tension between SJP and King.
This comes after her final outfit for And Just Like That… Season 2 filming was slammed by fans pining for Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic style.

The actress posed in a pinstripe dress by Marrakshi Life, a long teddy coat by Vivienne Westwood paired with blue boots from her own faux brand Duchessa Gardini, a gray fedora and a vintage bag by Pierre Cardin – with unimpressed fans declaring the star look like a fancy tramp in outfit.
The wardrobe for the HBO Max show came under serious scrutiny after fashion icon Patricia Fiel, who styled Sex And The City for its six seasons and the two films, refused to return due to her work on Emily in Paris.

SJP stepped out in the outfit in NYC on Wednesday, where she was nearly hit by a bicycle during a dramatic scene.
For her work on Sex And The City, Field was nominated for five Emmy Awards, winning one, and six Costume Designers Guild Awards, winning four.
She returned as costume designer for the film Sex And The City (2008) and its sequel (2010), but was unable to reprise her role for the reboot due to her commitments on Emily In Paris.

Last month Patricia returned to the set to meet with SATC and AJLT showrunner Michael Patrick King.
The 80-year-old fashion icon posed with a chair bearing the show’s name – amid her ongoing friendship with SJP’s nemesis and ex-co-star Kim Cattrall.
Patricia looked chic in a black top, quirky green, yellow and red patterned pants and lime green brogues.
Patricia is known for her close friendship with ex-SATC star Kim, 66, who played the legendary Samantha Jones but acrimoniously left the franchise due to her feud with Parker.
Patricia has publicly pledged her allegiance to Kim since the show ended and said in December last year that she is interested in doing a series with her.
The two-time Emmy winner told Page Six: “I’d love to do a show with him [Kim].’
