Amber Alert in Saskatchewan: the children found

The yellow alert issued on Monday, which found two children aged seven and eight allegedly kidnapped by a man with a serious criminal record, was finally lifted on Wednesday.

Both children were found safe in South Dakota, United States, according to the Meade County Sheriff’s Office in the western US state.

US authorities also said they arrested the suspect.

On Monday night, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) issued a yellow alert to try to locate the two children who were kidnapped by a 50-year-old man with a criminal record of sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

The suspect is said to have implicated the children’s mother in his escape. The police then indicated that there were indications that the fugitives were staying in South Dakota in the United States.

“Earlier today, the Saskatchewan RCMP was notified by our law enforcement partners in the United States that the four individuals who were the subject of Amber Alerts in Saskatchewan and South Dakota have been located and are with authorities in South Dakota,” he said RCMP also confirmed on Wednesday.
