Two Algerian influencers were each sentenced to one year in prison, including six months in prison, on appeal for cheating Algerian students on Tuesday, August 9, according to local media, according to local media.

Farouk Boudjemline (known as Rifka) and Mohamed Aberkane (known as Stanley) have been charged by the Algiers Court with “criminal association, forgery and use of forgery, theft, fraud, money laundering”. Her co-defendant Numidia Lezoul, charged with the same charges, was acquitted.

All three were sentenced in the first instance to one year in prison and a fine of the equivalent of 650 euros because they had advertised the services of the “Future Gate” agency, which had defrauded many students. especially in Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. The agency demanded large sums from the students for the promise to take care of the enrollment and to provide accommodation, but left them to their fate.

The three influencers known in Algeria were arrested last January after a complaint from 75 students. The head of the agency, Oussama Rezagui, was sentenced to six years in prison (compared to seven years at first instance) and a large fine.
