Alex Rodriguez still loves Jennifer Lopez.
The retired athlete shared his support for the singer – and his ex-fiancée – following their marriage to Ben Affleck.
“With Jennifer, look, it was a good experience,” the former MLB player said on Friday’s episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?”. when asked if she would marry the actor after their split in 2021.
“I wish her and the kids who are smart, beautiful and wonderful — I wish them the very best,” continued Rodriguez, the father of daughters Natasha, 17, and Ella, 14, of Lopez’s 14-year-old twins, Emme and Maximilian.
“I would say I’m glad I’ll never be a presidential candidate because you would beat me up,” he concluded jokingly.
Rodriguez began dating the “Let’s Get Loud” singer in 2017 and got on one knee two years later.
As the couple planned their wedding and brought their families together, they finally called it quits in March 2021.
The singer married Ben Affleck in Las Vegas and again in Georgia.
Lopez then moved on to Affleck, to whom she was engaged in 2002.
The Oscar-winner proposed again in April, and Lopez gushed about the milestone moment in her newsletter at the time.
“Saturday night while I was in my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” the songwriter wrote. “I was literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that a yes?’ I said ‘YES, of course that’s a YES.’”
In July, she and her “Gigli” co-star wed in Las Vegas. Their second wedding the following month took place in Georgia and was attended by family and friends.
Casey Affleck, in particular, did not attend his brother’s wedding and was instead seen taking his son to soccer and grabbing ice cream.
However, the Manchester By the Sea star wrote a sweet Instagram tribute to Lopez in his absence.
“This is about twists and turns, new beginnings and finding new reservoirs of old love,” Casey wrote. “Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Joking. I’m kidding.”
Rodriguez is currently single, having split from model Kathryne Padgett in September.
The former New York Yankees player has been open about his past with Lopez, telling The Martha Stewart Show in July that he “has no regrets” about their romance.
Rodriguez stated, “She’s the most talented person I’ve ever met. Hardest worker. And I think she’s the greatest…live performer in the world today living.”
