Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya will play in the new main event scheduled for UFC 287 on April 8.
UFC President Dana White announced the rematch on Friday.
In addition to Pereira vs. Adesanya 2, the UFC 287 card also features a special welterweight attraction as Gilbert Burns welcomes Jorge Masvidal back into action after more than a year away from the sport.
In the Main Event, Pereira makes his first title defense after a stunning fifth-round comeback, defeating Adesanya in his first MMA encounter last November. Pereira had previously racked up two wins against Adesanya in kickboxing, including a vicious knockout in their second bout, which then set the stage for their showdown in the UFC.
Now Pereira looks to continue his unbeaten run against Adesanya while The Last Stylebender seeks revenge on the only person who gave him a UFC middleweight loss.
Meanwhile, Burns finally gets a chance to face Masvidal after the two welterweights called for a matchup in various interviews over the past year.
They will try to settle their differences in April.
Also announced for UFC 287, welterweights Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio clash on the main card, along with previously announced fights between Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Christian Rodriguez and Rob Font vs. Adrian Yanez.
