Alabama not #1, Georgia outside of the top 10 in Colin Cowherd’s preseason top 25 ranking

Colin Cowherd is no stranger to releasing bold takes. Among his most recent are his top 25 college football rankings, where Alabama isn’t #1 and the team that just won a national title doesn’t even make the top 10.

There are several questionable teams ahead of Georgia in this ranking and some that have real Dark Horse potential but have not consistently shown they are at the same level that the Bulldogs are expected to be at in 2022.

Here’s a look at Cowherd’s top 10

1. State of Ohio
2. Alabama
3.USC
4.Texas
5. Tennessee
6.UCLA
7. Utah
8. Nebraska
9.Louisville
10. UNC

It’s reasonable to expect Ohio State to be in the top three, and the way things look on paper, it could be a three-way race between the Buckeyes, Alabama and Georgia when it comes to who ultimately goes will win the national title.

But putting Ohio State above Alabama is a bit daring, and even bolder is putting teams like Louisville and Utah, who still have something to prove this season, at the top of the team that just won it all and on both Side of the ball has great talent in 2022.

However, each year there is less talk of teams emerging and demanding national attention. Whether any of Cowherd’s teams, ranked much higher than most other lists, will make it remains to be seen.
