Adam Pearce remembers Jay Briscoe

TMZ Sports spoke to Adam Pearce about the death of the great Jay Briscoe. Peace had this to say:

“Last night I got the news like everyone in wrestling does and I was breathless. You know, this is a contemporary of so many of us and someone we all loved. It’s cliche to say, but I mean I can.” I can’t think of anyone who’s ever met Jay Briscoe who wouldn’t say the same to you. He was an incredible performer. When you hear awards and championships, I mean it’s been on and on and on. He and his brother Mark are, for my money, one of the greatest tag teams in the history of our business and that’s no exaggeration. I believe that. I’ve shared a lot of rings with them, a lot of dressing rooms. I deal with them in all facets of our industry. Most of all, he was my friend and I’m amazed that this happened and, God, my heart goes out to his family.”

“What has always loved me most about him is his love for his family. He was an incredible father, an incredible husband. I know his mom and dad and his wife and I’m just getting over myself with no idea what to say to anyone how do you comfort a family you’re known for god I met jay and mark , that must have been in 2005, almost 20 years ago and you’re at a loss for words man I’m at a loss for words but I want the world to know that Jay Briscoe won the Ring of Honor alongside the wrestler that he was Hall of Famer that he is and always will be, an incredible father and family man was that he treasured that more than any award in wrestling.”
