Aaron Carter true cause of death foul play? Singer was ‘threatened’ over botched deal [Details] – music times

Aaron Carter’s family believe he didn’t drown in his bathtub but overdosed after a drug deal went bad. Could there still have been a foul play? Police are reportedly still investigating this new tidbit.

On November 5th, the troubled singer died at the age of 34. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told the Post that deputies responded at 10:58 a.m. local time at Carter’s home and discovered a deceased person. Carter was discovered in his bathtub at the time of his death, according to sources, after a 911 call reported “drowning.”

Now his fiancée Melanie Martin and mother Jane Carter have told TMZ that the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told them no water was found in Carter’s lungs, ruling out drowning as a possible cause of death.

Martin, who recently regained full custody of their one-year-old son Prince, claims she spotted text messages on her late fiancé’s phone in which he discussed owing an unknown person $800 for an unknown substance.

She explained that Carter informed the person that he no longer needed the medication, to which the person replied that payment was still due. Carter reportedly responded by asking if he was being threatened, but that was the end of the conversation.

Martin revealed to TMZ that she met with investigators last week and presented the text messages as evidence. She also revealed alongside Carter’s mother that the coroner is still awaiting toxicology results to determine what substances were in the late teenage idol’s system at the time of his death.

Carter’s family now believes he met the unknown person before his death and may have been on a drug that caused his death.

Martin previously told Page Six that Carter “couldn’t escape his demons” and was frequently “sucked in” to party, making it difficult for him to stay sober. In November, Carter’s Los Angeles home was visited by police in response to an 911 call reporting a drowning. They discovered his body in his tub while the jets were still operating.

Based on the unnatural color of the water and the smell of decay, law enforcement officials believe Carter’s body was in the bathtub for an extended period of time. Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that police discovered prescription pill bottles and several cans of compressed air in the singer’s bathroom and bedroom.

Carter’s death certificate, released in November, indicates the singer was cremated and an autopsy performed, but the cause of death was concealed at the time.
