A young thug’s co-defendant was reportedly reprimanded in the courtroom after a drug deal

Young Thug’s co-defendant, Kahlieff Adams, who was accused in court of passing drugs to the rapper, was “tased multiple times,” a YSL defense attorney claimed.

According to WSB-TV, attorney Surinder K. Chadha Jimenez, representing one of Thug and Adams’ 12 other co-defendants, filed a motion on Friday (Jan. 20) detailing what happened after the alleged drug swap on Wednesday (Jan . January) happened. .

In the new court document, Jimenez also requested that an independent law enforcement agency, such as the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, review the entire incident to determine not only whether Young Thug and Kahlieff Adams committed a crime, but also whether the Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy did were used excessive force.

According to a previous filing by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a surveillance camera captured the moment Wednesday when Adams allegedly walked up to Thug, who was sitting next to his attorney, and handed him a Percocet pill.

After the pill was confiscated by the head of Young Stoner Life Records, authorities took Adams to a back room where they searched him and discovered more Percocet pills, marijuana, tobacco and other unspecified contraband.

Authorities claimed the defendant was taken to nearby Grady Memorial Hospital after attempting to take some of the items he was carrying, but Jimenez offered a different account of events.

“Shortly after Mr. Adams was transferred to the rear holding cells, the undersigned attorney, his client and several others in the courtroom could hear loud banging and screaming coming from the holding area where Mr. Adams was being held,” the defense attorney wrote. “While the disturbance was taking place, several officers ran into the courtroom and proceeded to the holding area where Mr. Adams was being held.”

He continued: “The undersigned attorney witnessed at least two officers remove their belts and firearms and then burst into the holding area. The noise was disturbing to many in the courtroom and at one point the Honorable Angela D’Williams asked to go to the back to check on her client but was not permitted. The undersigned attorney and possibly others were concerned for the safety of the accused.”

The motion further suggested that the entire exchange could affect the jury selection process, since potential jurors could hear the same noises coming from the hallway they were waiting in outside the courtroom.

Surinder K. Chadha Jimenez added that he believes part of the reason Kahlieff Adams was taken to the hospital was because he had been tased several times in the holding area.

As a result of the suspension, Wednesday’s jury-selection hearing was adjourned early, preventing the court from considering hardship cases — requests from potential jury members for pardons based on physical or financial problems that could result from attending the trial that is expected to occur will last up to a year.

In an interview with WSB-TV on Thursday, shared via Twitter by reporter Michael Seiden, Young Thug’s attorney, Keith Adams, maintained his client’s innocence.

“The reality is that Mr. Williams had nothing to do with what went on in the courtroom yesterday,” the attorney said. “One of the co-defendants, on the way to the toilet, tried to hand something to Mr. Williams, who immediately handed it to the deputy. He didn’t know what it was, handed it over to the deputies straight away.”

Kahlieff Adams’ attorney, Angela D’Williams, has not commented on the incident.

This is the second time a defendant in the ongoing YSL trial has been charged with attempting to smuggle contraband.

On Tuesday (Jan. 17), YSL rapper Yak Gotti’s mother was also arrested after allegedly trying to hand her son a bag of tobacco products and rolling papers at the Fulton County Courthouse.
