The Laval Rocket put on an excellent performance for their thousands of fans gathered at Place Bell on Saturday, defeating the Utica Comets 4 to 1.

Jean-François Houle’s side have ended a three-game losing streak and are in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Used for the second time in less than 24 hours, Cayden Primeau brilliantly defended the Laval cage. He stopped 27 of 28 enemy shots. Only Reilly Walsh managed to break through his armor in the second period.
Quebec forward Brandon Gignac, absent from the last game through injury, was a doubtful case for the day’s game. Shortly before the start of the game he received the green light and opened the shot on goal after 2 min 41 s. of the game.
Tory Dello and Nolan Yaremko also found the net in the first period. For the latter, it’s a first goal with Rocket, and it’s in his fifth game. He also threw away the gloves with Zack Hayes in the middle stage to defend teammate Jan Mysak.
Mitchell Stephens also threaded the needle in the win after also blacking out the scorers’ list on Friday.
The Rocket will be back in action at Place Bell on Wednesday when they take on the Bridgeport Islanders.
