A stray moose wanders Quebec

Authorities are tracking a young whimsical suspect who is believed to be lost and was seen at Laval University in Quebec City on Wednesday morning.

The animal was first seen around 4.40am on Wednesday. Some citizens called the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) to tell them it was on the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard and Holland Avenue.

The moose, whose size suggests it may not be an adult specimen, was heading west. He was then seen near Myrand Avenue at around 5:50 a.m. before being last seen near Laval University in the woods near the tennis courts at around 6:10 a.m.

Everything indicates that the animal could have entered a surrounding forest area since then. Wildlife protection officers were called in to take over this file.

“However, there was no evidence that the animal was injured or posed a danger to the public,” said SPVQ spokesman David Poitras.

However, the latter warns citizens and drivers in the area to be vigilant when driving.
