A new cinematic trailer for Hogwarts Legacy

With the release of Hogwarts Legacy less than a month away, Warner Bros. Games is bringing us a new theatrical trailer that will give players a taste of the adventure they can experience starting February 10th.

The trailer reveals a little more about the new open-world game, transporting us through multiple environments that we’re free to explore (or so we hope). To do this, the developers had the good idea of sending us an owl that has important news to deliver to a new student at Hogwarts. We can assume here that the new student is none other than you, or at least the character that you can create yourself.

During this short flight we can see the exterior of the castle, the great hall (the magnificent room where the students meet to eat) and the forbidden forest (full of giant spiders). The last two scenes presented to us, in particular, do not seem to demonstrate an emblematic place in the Harry Potter franchise. The first shows us a masked wizard trying to kidnap a hippogriff (he’s also trying to kill our owl, so we can conclude he’s mean). The second shows us three wizards, probably students, fighting a giant dragon.

The release of this game is highly anticipated by many fans of the Harry Potter series who grew up with the magical world of Hogwarts. Harry Potter had already developed his game series from EA, which many millennials have played, but this will be the very first time that we can create our own character in this universe and explore Hogwarts and its surroundings in the open world. On the contrary, some prefer to boycott the game instead because of JK Rowling, the author of the original series, and the transphobic comments she’s been making over the past few years.
